  1. Fantastic, Thanks for all the very fast and informative replies. Regards.
  2. I have a small Squirrel Solid Fuel Stove on my boat. Having just been to check the boat, I see that the lagging (for want of a better word!)is starting to crack and peel away where the top of the stove joins the chimney. It looks like this join has been repaired in the past, and the sealant used has now hardened and I guess with regualr heating and cooling is starting to crack. What should I use to repair this join? Is there a better material than what was used originally, that can handle expansion and then cooling? Many thanks,
  3. Thanks for the replies. I will look into sound proofing. It seems mad that the timer won't turn off the central heating. Usual practice would be to have it on early evening then again first ting in the morning. But I guess it may have to be left on all night in really cold conditions? Would this be safe? I guess from an economy point of view not the best solution either? Thanks.
  4. Fairly new to boat ownership. Spent my first couple of cold nights on the boat last week and had the central heating on. It is a Webasto system. 2 Questions. 1. I can hear a constant ticking noise when the heating in on, which I am guessing is a pump? making it very hard to sleep. Is this a normal noise, or is there any way of stopping/controlling it? 2. I don't have any instructions for the Webasto control panel. At the moment I can turn it on and off using the little 'flame' button, but it would be nice to be able to set the timer and have it fully programmed. Any ideas? Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the quick replies. I am amazed. Having done a quick Google search, you are correct. It seems my boat can be started by any old JCB/Izusu key. Mad...!! Thanks.
  6. Hi, I have an existing Isuzu key for my ignition, but need to make a copy so that other family members have keys. Does anyone know of a key cutter than could do this in the Northampton area? Thanks,
  7. Hi, my first post (of many, im sure) Recently bought my first boat, and all going well so far. One thing that was missing when we had our first outing, is some sort of key or device to open the Diesel and Water tank fillers. Both fillers are the same design, made from brass and have a single slot in the top. Such as you would imagine can be opened by a very large coin. I'm sure in the past I have seen a sort of split pin thing that will unscrew the filler? Does anyone know where I can find such a key/pin or is there something better? I have been using a kitchen knife so far, but think I should have the right bit of kit. Many thanks.
