Rope caught in prop killed engine

BMC 1.5 on a Springer narrowboat I'm away this weekend but will check when I can back if can rotate prop without shaft rotating - felt stiff ie connected when I was cutting off the rope but need to actually see the shaft as I do it Thank you for the advice Alan -
Hi, A loose rope went into prop nad killed the engine. I cleared the prop but now there is no oomph forward or back... Could the damage be limited to drive plate and not (please not) the gear box? I've previously had 'stuff' caught and engine killed, but before once cleared she started up and had traction. Any recommendations for boat engineers who are willing to enter central London please? I'm near Kings Cross Thank you Toshiro123
