  2. Cheers guys, Nicholsons guide is great and is on order as we speak. Thanks Lonewolf, the online map on waterscape was exactly what i was looking for Paul
  3. wow, wasn't expecting all this interest. Thanks guys. I'm not planning on taking any action until next year but do you know who i could speak to so that i could get an answer set in stone about my rights (and preferably not BW as they will undoubtably be biased)as theres a lot of mixed messages from different people here. Cheers guys (appreciate all the advise) Paul
  4. I thought i'd put it in this section so i don't sound too stupid (hopefully), but could anyone tell me where i could find a map with bridge numbers etc on of the trent and mersey. I've been scouring the internet all day to no avail. I'm sure there must be something out there but i can't seem to find it. Thanks Paul
  5. Hi everyone, I've recently been lucky enough to purchase a house with a back garden that backs directly onto the trent and mersey canal just up from the etruria industrial museum. I would like in the future to be able to have my own boat moored from the back garden purely for leisure use. The only thing i know is that whatever boat i choose it cannot be longer than the width of my garden. I understand there is licences to be bought and apparently 50% of usual mooring fees as i do not need the towpath to access the vessel. If anyone else is in the same situation or has done this i would greatly appreciate any advice or just a point in the right direction on what to do first and how to go about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated Paul
