just after lock 30w?
-
I've just been looking through some social history books covering the old boating traditions and folklore where I discovered this nugget:
Apparently if a young man fell in the cut on the day of a banter he would meet the maiden of his dreams shortly thereafter.
By the time of the next banter his days of single handing (!) would be over.
Thats me sorted then, matty was a day late checking the basin water.
-
cheers everyone for a good banter, good to put faces to names, had a brill time.
just made it back before the rivers hit the red markers.
and just incase anyone wants to know how deep the basin is in the middle ask matty.
-
back home now, great trip out. lucky to get back to the marina, all the rovers in the orange an rising.
thanks everyone for the banter, nice to put names to faces.
thanks matty for letting me come on your boat.
-
heading back north,
its offical the basin is very slippy an very wet, ask matty he knows too

She looks an interesting little boat!

shes abit basic inside, just a cushioned bench down either side, an carpeted walls

the police have just released me, using matty on the internetz said "tie everything down" as my deference just kept me in longer.
-
Yes sorry Star I was joking, does this mean I'm going to get the chop?

We live in Sheffield. I am well aare that the end of the Chesterfield canal isnt joined to the rest of it thanks
all you need is a trailer an you can have a go on this side too
-
That's OK - but I feel we need some photographic evidence - preferably on a cold day.
Alex
why a cold day? do you like a lady in a duffle coat?
-
i was always told not to rock the boat, but i can see it helping there.

looks like it was part of the path route, to keep the path open after the canal
