  4. Have decided to go for the evergreen 6kw. Thanks to everyone for the links and advice. Joy
  5. Hi Richard, I came to this forum as a total newbie to boating so maybe some of my questions may seem a little basic to you and the answers could probably be found elsewhere but, I prefer to ask and gain advice from people who know better than I and have 'been there, done that'. It's ok with me if people don't want to answer but I have found that most on the forum are happy to help, or point me to where I can gain the knowledge I seek. Joy
  6. To move the stove would be a lot of work with the way the boat is set out right now, I think I should work on other things first to make it easier to live on, but it will be something to look at in future, thanks wanted. Joy
  7. Thank you Richard, seems a 5kw would work then, and thank you Blackrose. Joy
  8. Am looking at getting a new stove. The one I like is 8kw and has a boiler for 3 rads. Would this be too much for a 48ft boat?

  11. By the old route ditch, just tucked away in the corner. I love it.
  12. Sorry kitman I don't know any of those people, have not had the boat long and am moored just past banbury by the winding place and Tesco's.
  13. I did it, I did it yayyyyyy, and without major mishap! A few disgruntled old ladies waiting at the bridge and a difficult time turning ( a huge thank you to Susie for helping there and the return lock) but I am back in one piece with a pumped out loo yayyyyyy
  14. One lift bridge and one lock down, now my first pump out experience. Am sure starry said something about this!! But half way now I guess
  15. Got to go out alone for the first time. Am only going to the pump out and back to my moorings but as I am new to steering this is going to be a major undertaking. One lift bridge, one lock, each way, and a turn around gulp, but have no choice . Big apologies to anyone I pass (and hopefully not hit) Joy
  16. Thank you for that link bottle, think I'll go along to one too. Joy x

  19. We have a mooring close by. We can't cc until I get round to selling my house. So far shouting that we forgot the 'L' plates has helped offset any upset we may have caused, but there was a queue of shoppers waiting for the bridge! A few very nice boaters have given us advice with the locks too.
  20. Have been out today, in and around banbury,on our very first trip and have had a great time, tho not been very far I have been learning loads. Still out tomorrow so if we have upset anyone today, or do upset anyone tomorrow I'll apologise now. Joy x

  23. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped me when I was boat hunting. I have now purchased my boat and have put a few proud mummy pics up in the gallery for anyone interested. Thanks Joy x
