  1. If I told 'er indoors she couldn't take 'xyz' amount of clothes and she had to trundle off to empty a 10 litre suitcase of poo once a week it would be me who needed a tin hat , not to mention an anderson shelter !!!!
  2. Thanks for your help guys , the reasons I don't want the tank under the foredeck are that the cabin is being extended { by a pro boatbuilder , not me ) so that there is room to have a double bed sort of yacht style and the space underneath for storage , i.e. the wife's clothes !! And I don't have anything against pumps on the whole but as I've been involved with domestic plumbing all my working life I'm all for keeping things as simple as possible , less to go wrong ! Once again thanks for taking time to reply , Dave.
  3. Hello and welcome to our forum . . .

  4. Hi all , I have purchased a 31ft all steel narrowboat which i intend to fully refit to a very high standard ( i have worked for 27 yrs in property refurbishment ). I am only at the planning stage , i have three questions that I would like views on ! Number 1 , would it be ok to remove some ballast to house a small black waste tank ? Number 2 , the engine is in the cabin under a raised floor are 70" wide and 59" long , could I put a 60 litre potable water tank either side of the door or would this amount of weight high up totally destabilize the boat ? Number three , I intend to fit a calorifier low down in the engine area , can I gravity feed this as the water tanks are higher than the tap outlets as in a domestic application , I am keen to avoid too many pumps ( apart from shower feed ) Looking forward to your help , Dave .
