Hi, I'm about to take the plunge and buy a second/third hand nb. Should I be able to get about (slowly) on my own and if so, does length matter enormously? Looking forward to your expert answers

Hello and thanks for existing, I'm in the throes of buying a nb and hope to work from her - which means appx 6-7 hours use of a laptop daily. What might be the most reliable option and simplest to operate? As this is directly connected to my income, I am not after the cheapest unless it's as good as something more expensive. Doffing my cap to your expertise..
