  13. well until its a done deal id rather not say but its a 43ft trad piper boat boat in excellent condidtion. it was up for 26k and ive got it for 19k
  14. aww right ok. yes i meant water tank. do you mean black the inside??
  15. Well Just rerturned home. Well the survey went well :-) he said the hull was very sound and in excellent condition. he said it was a well built boat & great for its ages. the only few things that cropped up was All batteries need replacing. the prop is at the end of its life and only a couple of seasons wear left. the 4 hatches 1 at stern 1 at bow and 2 side hatches which are made of wood are rotten away and only held by paint! so the vendor is replacing batteries and iam going ahead yippeeeeeeee the one thing i didnt realise was that wot i thought was the gas locker in the bow is actually the water locker. which is slighty corroided
  16. Hopefully some of you fellow boaters will remember but i put a post up saying i was looking for a boat and my budget was around 20-25k, well after a massive search. I have been all over the UK. Bilsowrth down on the GU,Merica stoke leeds even went up to see a boat at falkirk. I have eventually found a boat i like. so to cut a long story short i put a low offer in and it was declined i then put a final offer in which again was declined but the brokers called 2 days later to say the vendor had re thought and was willing to accept my offer. So after paying the deposit and waiting around for A week the full survey is being done tomorrow. "fingers crossed" I will let you all no the outcome
  17. Have a great trip! Fradley Junc is great.
  18. its the wood burning stoves that worry me. esp when the making a noise of the metal expanding.
  19. What services??????????/ haha the only ones i no about are in castlefeild and Wrosley were my BW key fits
  20. Well if your starting from Acton Bridge depending on wot time you leave id say The stanley arms at Anderton or the Big lock at Middlewich or if you have time the old Barbridge inn at Barbridge Junction. I like the cotton arms in Wrenbury never had a problem there. they do a lovely Lamb henry The Whiley moor lock is a great old tradional pub serves and excellent fish chips& peas for a mear £7 Whitchurch has some great places but is a bit of a walk. We tend to moor on the arm and walk up into the town and eat at the white bear which is set back from the main street. Ellsmere is a great place to stock up on provisions at the newly opened Tescos. the red lion is a short 5 min walk from the Arm and does some excellent food but is always busy so be prepared to wait. The narrowboat inn is another great place to eat & drink but sometimes difficult to moor. The Jack Mytton is a great pub with local beers on But food wise is more restuarant type stuff and a tad expensive but is worth it. Have also eaten at the lion quays hotel which is great food but "very" expensive. When your in Llangollen id recomend a walk up to the horseshoe falls its 2 miles from the basin. and a place to eat would be the bridge end. great resonable priced food. as you can tell ive done the Llangollen trip many times and its my favorite. we do tend to eat out most nights!
  21. Hi All. Iam in the same boat at min myself. I have on Friday found the boat i wont. a 1987 48ft semi trad. That has been extremely well looked after. last had a survey in 2007 but had a hull suvey 8 months ago whilst being blackened. the boat gets blacked every year including bottom plate. has a new vetus engine in 2008! I asked the advice of the broker. who said we would prefer you to have a survey but its my call!
  22. Liverpool boats now trade as Collingwood narrowboats in Liverpool so might be worth giving them a call.
  23. Hi bluestring pudding. That sounds excellent the deal you got. Is the boat still going strong? Dom from Rugby boats. Yes i spotted this boat last night on your website. Its actually on my list to look at.
