  1. Hi- I’m travelling from Great Haywood to Barlaston and need my car with me for the next couple of weeks. Does anyone know of any safe (for the car) mooring spots? Happy out in the sticks or in Stone. Hope someone can help, many thanks

  2. Just got a 19" Hitachi combi with built in Freeview. Has a transformer 'brick' to drop from 240v. I use mine on 12v with an Amperor regulator. Telly cost £200 from Argos, stunning pic quality

Many thanks for all your helpful replys. How do you find out if they have the 'brick'? And can you recomend a regulator? Sorry a bit clueless about it all

What power rating are you looking for, Ali? (wattage)

Hmm not sure, just moving on to my boat so a little loose on the whole power issue

  3. Just bought a cheapy Luxor from asda yesterday.

Forgot to mention-I am looking for a low power one-can you get these on the high street?

  4. Hi-looking to buy one of the above and was hoping to avoid buying a 12v one(seem a tad expensive). Anybody got some recomendations looking at about a 19" or slightly bigger screen size. Would appreciate any help-many thanks. And is worthing spending a bit more on a Kerstan satellite dish rather than less inexpensive ones?

  5. Who's system were you referring to? Mine is a completely unpressurised open system and the header tank doesn't overflow at all.

I put noise inhibiter in my system but I still get thumps and gurgles. My system (unlike the one you have described), is very simple and it's been fine gurgling away for the past 5 years so I don't see it as a problem.

HI-Many thanks for all your replies to the original posting. Its an open system but reading the messages there are plenty of tests to do. Thanks again for all your advice

  6. Hi

We live here but we have winter moorings in Sawley this year.

    Where are you?

    Alex

Got confused, thought you lived on it up there, I am just moving on to a boat on the Cauldon Canal. Do quite a bit of work over that way so was just pondering wethar to move the boat over that way

Hi Alex-thanks for the reply, noticed your location. Is your boat moored up that way? Can you recommend any nice spots if you are? Thanks

  8. Just purchased a boat and left pondering if all the documents I need have been handed over. Could anyone tell me what are the proper documents that need to be exchanged-I have got the mortgage release document from the previous owners and a sheet of paper describing the boat from the builders-have I missed anything?

    Thank you for the help

  9. Hi

Just recently purchased a boat with a squirrel back boiler-it works great but when it gets warm/hot strange gruggling noises come from the pipes. Has anybody experienced this one? Once I close it down the noise dissapears. And do squirrel have a special setting for the grate if your just burning wood?

    Thank you

  10. Thank you for the info-will get down the land registry and start chatting to BW. Casp'-thanks for your help will try and locate the owner though from local knowledge their has been no sign of him for over fifteen years. He brought the local factory asset stripped it and closed it down-not too popular if he sets foot in these parts.

  11. Yes its on BW waters on the Cauldon-many thanks for your replies. Their seems to be several casual moorings on the non towpath side up here that I have spotted over the years-the owners of the land don't seem to mind wethar their used as residential or leisure. At what stage would BW step in? Its pretty quiet up here with little traffic

  12. Hi

I have found a mooring alongside a woodland which adjoins some moorings, mostly leisure. The owner of the moorings does not know who owns the woods and he has been around over fifteen years. He has offered me access through his yard to the adjoining woodland. The question being would it be possible to stay their without any problems? Aim to be their for 9 months of the year if possible but not in one continous period. Any help would be appreciated

    Ali
