  1. Thank you for the info on the fuel lines. Our engine is Isuzu 33hp . Engine hours 650.
  2. Yes we lost the prop when in reverse. We have a Vetus shaft and propeller fitted and the propeller is on purely under torque and this has to be done precisely. Presumably when the boat was built this was not carried out correctly. There is no split pin. We have just obtained a new shaft, propeller and nut from Vetus and there is no split pin - the propeller is fitted with precise torque settings. We presume that when the bolts on the coupling sheared it unbalanced the shaft which in turn unbalanced the propeller causing the movement and the eventual loss of the propeller. All was fine 18 months ago when we bought the boat and she was out for survey and blacking. The only thing that was noticeable was some fishing line wrapped round the propeller and this pulled straight out.
  3. We have a 58ft narrowboat, built as a sailaway by Liverpool Boats in 2005 and finished by a boat building company. Last week on a trip for a pump out we lost our propeller - has anyone else experienced this? Less than 20 hrs prior to this 3 out of 4 bolts sheared on the coupling and were replaced. We regularly check these items so what has happened has come as a mystery to us. We understand that this has happened on other Liverpool Boats and we would appreciate any input.
