yes sorry i meant stop control,i used the strangle word as was used in the old method of stopping a diesel in older cars lol,i aim to bolt a cable onto the start/run/stop control on the side of the engine.just need to work out the lenth and type of cable to use,once again sorry for missleading you .yours lenny

many many thanx for that mike i was unsure as to the prob.now just got to fit the throttle cable up to w/house thought i might have to fit a strart/run /strangle cable too but might just wing it for now ,starting engine in run position, then strangle by hand once again many many thanx

hello all first many thanx for letting me join your club,the question i wish to ask is this i have just bought a lister st3 with a start handle and a starter motor what is the way to start using the starting motor do i need to lift the decompression levers as by hand or is the motor able to start the engine with the compression levers down i ask as it would be a pain to keep having to open the engine hatch every time to start,if this sounds daft please excuse me as i am only a humble bricky lol
