I have just got home with the keys to my first narrowboat - it is called 'Charm'! Just what I wanted - maybe more - 40 ft, semi-trad, ready to go, bought from a lovely couple the old fashioned way with a handshake and transfer of funds in the pub! Unfortunately I will not be back to see her until Friday on which day I will go and load my first bits on her and start with my initial priority list; padlock for gas locker, lights are too dim, fill with water, remove and dry out the water in the engine bay. Not too bad, eh? Thanks very much to Ted and Cindy for their lovely boat, I will take great care of it.
