    ice

Anyone know if grand union leicester arm is still frozen over near norton junction?
  2. Likewise. What a pain. Loaded the car, got to marina to find ice about an inch thick. Went back home and unloaded the car. Hoping for some sun now to defrost everything.

Thanks. I have a vertical tank. Will be filling it soon, as I'm planning a weekend away soon. Fingers crossed, no more freezing

Ok, thanks for that. I've read up a bit more now. Certainly get mixed opinions!
  6. I have drained the water from my freshwater tank in the bow, left all taps on. The hot water tank is also empty now, if I run the engine every couple of weeks to keep batteries topped up will it damage the calorifier? This is my first winter with this boat. Any advice gratefully received.
  7. Ok, all replies taken on board. I think I'll just leave it. I haven't sunk, there's no knowing how long its been like it. Boat only 18 months old, new to me 8 months ago, bit annoying that its happened. Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply.
  8. While in the clear waters of the Market Harborough arm recently, I noticed that one of the bow anodes had come away from the steel at one end and had been completely bent back on itself. Any suggestions? Is there a hole in the bow now where the anode was fixed on? How are anodes fixed on? As I now cant see because the water where we are now is darker, I'm asuming the boat will have to come out, or will it be ok to leave it until the next blacking in two years time? Any suggestions gratefully received.
  9. ok, great, thanks. Should get the name of the firm who carried out the work.
  10. I've just had a 1980 40ft coles morton NB surveyed and it has shown up that parts of the hull are pitted. THe hull bottom apparently needs overplating. Is overplating normal on a boat of this age? Not sure whether to continue and buy the boat and get work carried out or walk away.
