We spend £27 every 3 weeks (Morco / cooker / washing machine etc) so this is really interesting to me.
Savings seem to vary on this thread, can someone tell me the likely saving (is not £5 or £15; big difference)?

2 bikes and some diesel stolen from boats in our patch on the Avon near Saltford this week.

Hi all
My boat keeps tripping the power on the local PowerPoint. Even when all the 240 sockets are turned off (all of them!). The RCD stays on but the power point trips. I have tried 2 different cables, one brand new and tried all the sockets on the power point, I still trip it.
My neighbours are also on the PowerPoint, their cable does not trip it (so I am driving them mad).
Any thoughts on what could be going on?
Thanks in advance.

Does any one know? Thanks

Lots of thunder and lightening round here ATM.
What's the likely hood of a narrow boat being hit and what would happen if it did.
It sounds like there is a war on outside!!!

The Avon by bath / Saltford is nice and high again. The footpath is starting to go under in at least one place nearby already.

How important are accumulators in water systems ? Do they aid pump longevity?
-
Hello all
We're having some issues with our 12v and a pump. Can anyone recommend a good guy?
We've put the feelers out to a couple of people we've spoke to in the past but are keen to get it sorted so any recommendations would be great.
Cheers

I now think this might be an electrical issue. If I get the multimeter out what sort of reading should I be looking for?
Ps - I have a multimeter but don't really know how to use it!!
-
It's may be one year old I'll have to check the receipt. I removed the accumulator when I installed the pump would that have anything to do with it now recent failure? I didn't replace it as the pump seemed to work great without it until now.

Our fairly new jabs co pump suddenly stopped working then started again then stopped. I think the leccy is fine is it likely to be the pressure switch ? If so how Do I clean it /Fix it?
Thanks

We have an expensive mooring but still live significantly cheaper than we did on dry land. Controversial I know (and we so lots of maintenance too)!

Hi all
I am soon to introduce a sterling 3kw pure sine wave inverter and a GI to our system of 3 batteries. Please note that the inverter is only for the fridge when cruising and is large as it was available at a good price.
To manage this new development I think I'm going to need a battery monitoring system. Does it come with everything you need to get it working with the aforementioned system and are there any other precautions of bits of kit I should be considering?
Cheers

Hi all
No real need to use washing machine. 3kw inverter purchased as it was a good deal
On eBay and it future proofs the boats for more transient living. So for now discount the the washing machine.
Batts for 12v systems, and inverter for fridge, and LCD telly at a push.
Currently running a sterling charger but not a big one can check later and let you know but it's nothing posh!

Hi all
I think my lesure batteries are dying. They haven't been replaced since I got the boat two years ago and I don't know when they were purchased.
They have been connected to a charger nearly the whole time I've had the boat and now only seem to hold 4 or 5 hours worth of pumps and lighting charge (all 12v) when disconnected.
So... Thinking of getting 3 new lesure batts, any recommendations? And how should I manage them? Is it good to put the battery charger on a timer? 12 hours on 12 hours off? We live aboard and use the boat electronics daily.
Thanks
