Thanks!
Yeah it's a pain not knowing exactly what the engine is. 99% sure we are close I just need to work out which iteration of the Austin/Perkins/Volvo it is!
http://www.inlinefilters.co.uk/Filters-Lube/SpinOn/13-16.16UN/FFR-PH4908
The above looks like it might be the correct part at a great cost but it doesn't say OC269 on the page it just brings it up in the search!!

I have found it under the Austin guise.
Do you think that would do the trick? I had to guess the engine year.
Also found these.

Do you think they are correct ?

Hi all
I need to change the filter on my engine and it is this part: http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/2680954
However, I can on,y find the part on that site and the postage is £8 ( I think it comes from Germany).
The engine is some variation of a perkins m60, Volvo penta 500 or a montego md22l! There's a pic of it in this thread http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=52440&hl=
Not having id the engine 100% I can help but want to replace the part exactly but any advice or thoughts would help. I could prob do with a fuel filter and an alternator belt also. Just not sure where to look or how to be sure.
Thanks
Ps - I meant to say - is this a common filter I can buy in the uk by a different brand a little cheaper!
Thanks!

Great news I got the suggested bit off eBay for a fiver and wired it up and it works perfectly.
Thanks all

We ar live aboard - two of us. We do oven, 4 burner hob and hot water via gas (and we have a washing machine that uses the gas water and my partner showers everyday) - we use 13kgs every 3 weeks.

It
Says 12v 1A. Does that mean 1Amp?
Still unsure what kit I need but can't help but think there is a good and simple solution.

It's basically this fan.
Issue being it is very powerful and quite loud.

Hi
I have brought a 12v car fan and its too powerful, is there an inline current limiting gizmo I can use to slow it down?
Thanks all

I have a washing up bowl underneath but it doesn't seem to catch everything!
Ill just have to keep an eye on it.
Is there anything other than greesing that might stop the drips? Tighten up some nuts or something.
Its a prm160 I think (not that it's the gearbox that drips, its very much where the prop meets the next bit).

What adjustments need doing regularly other than greeting?

I have an unused skin fitting I could put an inline fan on to remove the stale air. Would that be better?
Cheers

Yeah the ballets is sat on small cubes made of wood. Pella might d the trick.
What's the science? Fans move air which cools people down. But in a childish engine room would air circulation air dryness?
Cheers all
So many iPhone woes in there!

My engine room is nearly dry <1cm water under the ballist. (It comes in after boating either due to occassional drips from the prop or heavy acceleration pushing water up through tiller bottom).
I don't want to keep clambering in to wet vac it so was thinking about mounting a tube heater and a small fan and put this on a timer through winter to dry the bilge (we have shore power).
Is this viable / logical? And would just a fan work without a heat source or would a fan actually slow evaporation without heat?

Fed up of our noisy pump.
Are these any good?
Or are there other cheaper models? (Or more expensive if they are really really quiet!!!!)

They nicked a chap who stole some of our things. He would go roaming posing as an angler up to 35 miles or more from his home turf in a local city.
-
Yes I have had endless things stolen from on or around the boat this season (£6k+). You cannot be too careful sadly.

What's best? Lots of areosol stuff on eBay, I am leaning towards the pita of stuff on eBay though.
What is best.
It's a squirrel. Mainly asking as the joint between the stove and the chimney is looking a little sad for itself and starting to look rusty.

Hot tap doesn't help. Is a blocked jet a professional job?

Oven and hob is working fine (sorry - should of mentioned that)

Hi all
My partner changed a gas bottle yesterday and we have have since not been able to relight our morco (Eco plus 6) gas heater.
I don't think there's any gas coming to the pilot when I prime it.
It's always worked well and we cleaned by a professional about a year ago.
Any thoughts on what the issue might be?
Thanks all

Definitely stolen. The Kayak was on the bank alongside our disassembled cratch (had just painted the boat).

Hello all
Disappointingly my new Robson Waikiki kayak was stolen last night.
It is green with blue splodges.
I will try and put a photo up for anyone nearby who can keep an eye out. But it is basically this one: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/robson-waikiki-kayak-paddle-and-buoyancy-aid/1020083549
