I wish I had read this earlier, I would have had one while I was talking to you, Dhutch was there at the time
I didn't have them then or i would've mentioned them, he'd left them in the car!

Spoke to someone who is already on site and they said it's not even muddy (that'll make a change!!), but it was very windy today and they are leaving some of the banners and displays for us to help set up in the morning.
Is the Soar still in the "green"?
Was very windy setting up today, rathcet straps rock!
Not mudy when we left at about 5.
No clue about the soar but lots of boats out to the banter so i think its fine.

Well, if you only want them selling to forum members, maybe i could only pass them over if they are asked for? I'll be happy to put some cards on the stall for people to take if they so wish. (some kind of holder would be good if the wind is as bad tomorrow as it was today) Come find me and we'll sort something out. (i'm on one of the little market stalls outside the craft tent.)

There are indeed window stickers available.- Currently we have just under 50 of the origanal batch remaining (enough for around 25people assuming most have two) which i dont mind taking to the national tomorrow assuming im able to go and making them available for purchase to members.
- I will then shortly also look into geting another batch printed up, as well a possibly geting some larger stickers made up and a small range of other items of merchandise while im at it to replace the stock levals.
When we designed the sticker and got the last lot printed it was decided to only make it available to members of the forum as non-for-profit, rather than put them on public released.
However what we do have is small card which can be handed out to potential new members with th details of the site and the web address in question. Ive not got any profesionally printed to hand, but they can be downloaded along with copys of the sticker and a4 poster and printed out.

Was just wondering if you wanted me to sell some stickers to forum members from my stall??
Obviously left this suggestion REALLY late but my brain is apparently having a holiday at the mo so only just thought of it.
Send me a PM if this is a good idea, ignore me if it's a bad one! lol

look for a plant glazing firm in your area who will be able to do it
That takes me back, my Dad used to be a plant glazer, he used to take me with him if he ever glazed boats. Got to go down a few quarries too (way before health and saftey issues stopped that sort of thing) and see all the big dumper trucks! So exiting.....
Suppose my glass fetish started early!

Good idea but sadly there's none suitable nearby on the bit of river I'm on ... a nice big motorway bridge would be lovely ... (wistful sigh)
Got a few nice bridges here you could borrow, i'll post one over!
Thought you said you would try the gazeebo idea? You know you need something in the blooming country!
Good luck tho,

Hmmmmmm, think you'll find Barrow is named after a barrow as in a final resting place. Who knows what Quorn is really named after though!
Although we are near to our lovely sewage farm, I notice it as I drive past, especially on hot days, but very rarely on the marina in all fairness. More from the pump out when it's in use, but that's the same anywhere with a pumpout.
I like it being named after a wheel barrow more, much funnier.
Was the first time i'd actually noticed the wiff on the marina last night i admit, thought it was just Mucky tbh what with his name and all!
-
Ohyes, i forget it's in Quorn....being so close to Barrow and all that! Personally i'd rather live in a place named after a useful toilet carrying tool than fake meat....but each to their own

I'm going to make some bottle clocks i think (melted flat bottles), i need some witty ......... O'Clock or ......... Time phrases. Like Beer O'Clock, or Cruisin Time.
Bring it on!

Jeremy Vine is doing a bit on it after the news, wonder if narrowboats will be mentioned or just canoes.

"Having decided to get a stall at the riverside festival....."
Just to clarify.........are you doing the Riverside festival or the IWA?
Good idea about setting up a craft bit for forum members work!
Oh they are 2 different events? Ooops again....i had only had 1 cup of coffee when i posted. Maybe i should wait till i get to work for that kind of thing!

Hmmm, I misread that the first time!
OOOh, OOps, It was early!

Having decided to get a stall at the riverside festival, i've realised i don't actually have a lot of stock so need to get my making head on.
I'll be selling my glass jewelry and have a plan to make some roses and castle pendants. Will be forced to make some skull and cross bones ones while i'm at it i think (you just cant beat skulls!) but what else would tempt you all to put your hands in your pockets? Coasters? Bowls? Clocks? Would they need to have a watery theme or is that too twee and just pretty things will work?
Oh and also, who do i talk to about booking the sun for the weekend???

As Liam and Chris says, get a survey, if it's all sound then - what's the problem?
You could always get a sticker saying "My other boat is a Colecraft" (only picked Colecraft cause thats what i have)
-
I saw that on the goole earth map! Bleurgh!
Never had a wiff at bishop meadow, but went to Pillings yeaterday and it stank! There a sewerage farm near Pillings? Or is it the llamas?
