Okay, I didn’t know/remember that one, there is another remote one I know of.
Clue, between Norton Jnc. and Watford locks. -
There is a passage way under the canal at Cosgrove.
Can anyone tell me where there is another one?

It's a two-week trip (there and back).
Thanks for your reply, although my question was about cost of licensing. It was a bit confusing with the different bodies of water.

Yes, but just as long as it takes there and back.

I have a Cart license. I would like to start at Gayton go to Ely, by boat. Stop over night and return to Cart waters at Gayton, What would be my cheapest licensing option?

How can I do that

Why does the topic of an empty mooring revolve around the pub nearby? these moorings are not just to go to the pub.

I started off with nothing. Still got most of it left

Hi Rooffythehirer when you leave the Oxford canal at the Issis lock and head up river to come off at Dukes cut, you will have to go through Godstow Lock and Kings Lock. Now you could hit it very lucky pass through both locks and they are unmanned.
Therefore locking yourself through and no one would be the wiser. I believe the shortest visitor licence is for one day, price depending on size of boat.

Hi Peter Reg, I was moored in front of you at Abingdon. Hope the trip is going well.

Try Pangbourne Meadow. Station nearby.
Not sure about the 48hrs though.

Can't fault you, at least you returned his property.

Just because I can see that society creates these thugs does not mean that I have one shred of sympathy for them as I came from a council estate very similar to the one in Stoke but I have never thrown anything at a boat except on one occasion (returning the lump hammer that a boater threw at me).
Why would a boater throw a lump hammer at you? Just wondering.

The Thames is never CLOSED, so it cant re-open. The boards are simply advisory. It is up to the boater to make their own judgements. Lock-keepers will never obstruct a knowledgable boatman going about this legal right to navigate at any time.
Closed to navigation at Whitchurch Bridge.

I dropped both bits of a small D shackle into about 4 ft of water in the Thames last year whilst messing about adjusting a fender. On my first dip with the Sea Searcher I recovered the clevis pin. About 100 dips later I still hadn't recovered the D shacke itself so I decided one more dip and I'm giving up. Got it on that one last dip!
MtB
If you had got it before the last dip would you of carried on?
