  1. it is just an ordinary water storage tank made to fit under the seating area. All John was doing was filling it with a hose pipe. Before it was completly full water flooded the boat. when we dismantled the seat & got the tank out all the seams had split open.

  2. just dropped the tank off at address not where we ordered the tank. This one man company made it for Polyfab. The man still insists the seams split open by a air lock. Although 2 plumbers took it who agree the vents & the fact no water was drawn off it was impossible to be a air lock. It will be ready tomorrow but we feel we need compensation for the damage caused. The wooden floor & the fitted carpet are soaking plus the cost of running the dehumidifier & having to get someone to help us to carry the tank back.

  3. with John being a retired plumber he knew how to fit the tank flat on the bottom & fitted vents. The company rang back to say to take it back to them tomorrow which meant dismantling the seating area. They suggested it could have been a air lock causing the seams to undo but the tank was vented & we hadn`t drawn any water off. Everything is soaking & left a dehumidifier on hoping to get more water out. Our new upholstery was still in the house thank goodness.

  4. have had two water tanks made to order from Polyfab at a cost of just under £400. Today we tested the system on the boat & the bottom fell out of one of the tanks flooding the wooden floor, carpets etc. Luckily we fitted valves to isolate the system but still approx 350 litres is on the boat. The boat is still on dry land but has given us plenty of hard work for today. they are factory tested like the cylinder & we thought they would be watertight.

  5. One thing that i know you should do is polish exposed pipework, this is because polish gets under the pipe clips and never buffed off, so is left there eating away at the copper untill it leaks.

    - I heard this from the corgi man who last presure tested our system. he was late having just spent 3hours at the prevoius boat trying to track down a leak only to find it was coming from a hole in the pipe

Sorry, a little off topic, but it just goes to show!
