  1. Hi peoples I am sure that this has been discused endlessly but I haven,t been able to locate an answer with the exception of electric hook-ups. Travelling South to North on the Birmingham main line are there any "must aviod" areas for moorings (24hr) or any areas where you would particulary aim for. We plan one night-stop in the Gas Street Basin prior to continuing up towards Aldersley Jct. Any opinions much appreciated.
  2. Jason Just looked at your mail giving details of the bread recipe from UKTV/something or other. Alas page not available - any chance of talking us through it - sure looks good

  4. Hi, I am thinking of buying an Ecofan unit for use on a multifuel stove on a 63' narrowboat. Does anybody have experience of these units, good or bad?
  5. It was a faulty pressure switch on the flowjet water pump!! All is now well
  6. Thank you all for your advice and interest. I will be on the boat at the weekend and work through your suggestions.
  7. Hi Robin Thanks for your thoughts. There is an accumulator in the system the question now being is it doing its job? This problem has only recently started after putting the water isolating tap on, letting it fill the system and then closing the taps which I left open to have less chance of a freezing system.
  8. Help with this one would be very much appreciated. New to boat plumbing and not sure what to expect. When I turn on any tap in the boat as expected the water pump kicks in making quite a noise from the area of the accumulator and water pump which are difficult to get to and therefore difficult to identify which is making the noise Immediately I turn the tap off the pump noise stops but I then hear a loud and quite regular banging from the calorifier for several seconds slowing down in speed of banging and noise after a nunber of seconds. I have tried turning off the water at the main water shut-off and then draining the taps and leaving them open and then turning the water back on to get the air out of the system but all to no avail. Any ideas from you clever folk would be very much appreciated
