Hutchinsons at Tuxford. Moved 2 narrowboats for me. Excellent service, cracking price

I burn a Russboy tablet in my diesel stove periodically to keep it clean. Then every couple of months I do a full 'scrape and hoover' clean.

Also, I replaced my very ordinary chimney cowl with a Smokey Joe cowl and the improvement was massive - highly recommended.
See my rather tasty Smokey Joe, chimney and cowl for sale on classifieds on here!!!!!

I replaced mine with a end of line ...Ring Smart Charger Pro RSCPR50 stunningly robust construction, rubber end caps on casing, silent running, additionally there's a plug and play remote display(SmartCharge Pro Remote Control RSCPRC) for handy tinkering, function changing or actually seeing battery voltage.
i think the 50A from local motor factors was under £80 with the extra remote coming in at around £17.
I purchased another 35A for use with my classic cars... highly recommended

Rash and speedy, i was offered a job in a area i didn't want to buy a house.
From thinking about a narrowboat, purchase, and moving it by road through time constraints i was in and sorted in just over a fortnight.
I'd never been on a narrowboat before, very fortuitious having wise and savvy neighbours in next moorings on marina after purchase.
Sometimes you can just over think things.

having worked outside in the winter regularly in UK and trips to Northern Finland and Iceland (not the shop, boom boom tish) theres only one brand thats stood the test of time for durability and warmth.

Arctic Parka still as good as new, celebrates it's 20th birthday next month

I put mine on apolloduck on a free advert listing, however this is rather limited picture wise, concurrently i put an advert on ebay where one can add a dozen pics, if anyone enquired from apollo, i passed on ebay details with additional info, i priced the boat at a sensible realistic price, and i went in a few days, ebay ad removed, hey presto, no fees

Ive used( http://hutchinson-uk.co.uk/)at Tuxford for moving 2 Narrowboats in last 2 years,
Polite, efficient, excellent service, and a great price, ask them about moving on a return trip and price is even better,if you're a tad flexible on timings.
No connection with company, other than satisfied customer

as i treat batteries as consumables, i put some new ones in my boat, 110a/h leisure 46 quid delivered, i'll dig the address out if you're interested

Euro car parts have a discount code for today only (Bat25) gives 25% discount on their leisure and marine batteries :-

Not ideal but better than nothing to make ends meet over winter
If you told them you'd grass yourself up, i'm sure they would have no hesitation giving you a job...

Bottle i know 3's enough, but great to top trump people by 5

The Ring (8 stage) one i suggested on thread #3 was nowhere near the advertised price, i got it from a local motor factors in Newark for about 50% of the advertised price, and the seperate remote display for about 16 quid

My old Mobitronic charger expired about a year ago, ive a decent pair of solar panels that keep me fully sufficient for 8 months of the year.
When looking for a replacement, i came across this ring charger. http://www.warmstrong.co.uk/shop/accessories/ring-battery-chargers/ring-smartcharge-pro-12v-35a-battery-charger-rscpr35
Great build sturdy quality, cracking functions, and bonus of a plug in remote display, its mounted in the engine compartment, directly behind the baulkhead where i lay my weary head, and can say the fan assembly is totally silent, well recommended.

They're a few quid more now. Reason for asking, if it was just a bolt in option id take the hit on the price. Can't find a decent pic or manual to work things out

I'm just in the process of replacing the circulation pump I my Alde 2923,
Looking through various parts catalogues, ive noticed there appears to be a 240v immersion option, has anyone any experience of retro fitting or have an Alde with one installed.
Thanks in advance

It's not tape as you'd think of tape. Think of it more as a blue tac. It's about 3mm thick.(1/8" to old duffers ). But will smash down

Mayalld. I'll crowd fund you a pint out of my insurance savings for next renewal. If you do same for me.

French boating
in Holidays Afloat
Posted
6 mature experienced ex narrow boaters fancy hiring a decent sized 3 berth well equipped boat in France next year.
Anyone have a nice rental ?
We're all happy to be vetted , and obviously act as expected.
