My coal for the stove comes from durham seams washed up onto the beach every tide and free to gather.There is still some commercial sea colliers working independantly ,coal fired furnaces use it.

Sawbridgeworth the maltings are as i believe mostly rented apartments not particularly posh.my daughter lived there for 2 years and was told she was allowed to have a mooring in the marina.

Not aware of any residents complaints about boaters indeed they mostly liked to see the boats .Some people choose to live next to canals to enjoy the life and respect boaters as long as generators not run all night.

indeed with very thick battery cables could be achieved,but I would be more concerned about explosive gasses from your battery discharging into the main cabin

I built my shower with wetboard available from plumbing dealers at 90 pound a sheet ,took me 3 sheets but made the walls and door out of it .Been ok and totally waterproof available with sparkle finish

If it doesnt go through the body it doesnt go down the toilet,as for wiping paper I use the scented doggy poo bags and dispose of with the rubbish

with the charger plugged into mains flick the the crocodile clips together quickly a spark will indicate some output from charger dont hold them just a quick tap.

a similar technique can be used to awaken batteries tired from slow discharge.but only try this if supervised by a responsible adult

hi and welcome to a wonderful life .baby gate good idea but my mutt eat straight through the wooden bars so i now got metal gate .doggies ok true sometimes need to get up late at night to walk her out.hope you enjoy the freedom of life without the clutter everything we need is on the boat.

Darren, dependant upon the size and requirements of your boat i am shortly removong a boatman stove from mine , i also have a kabola old dutch diesel heater with backboiler, flue collar and chimney up for grabs as i have had a change of plan and bought a large aarow solid fuel stove with backboiler for my refit.... i also have a few eberspacher D5W's kicking about and some D2 airtronics.... flip me i really must get some ebaying done soon!

I am just guessing but 100 amp seems to be too much power to try to put into a battery bank.assuming they are all connected parrarrel does the alternater lead pysically connect to batt a first at this amperage small amounts of resistance will become very significent.Wish you good luck and hope someone more knowlegable than i can help

We got a rescue border collie from dogs trust and they were happy with the accomodation on 45 ft narrow boat.dog was a little nervous at first but now bounds on and off safely and happily.Inside she does do a lot of backwards walking

i had probs with the speed fit fixings on plastic pipes .they lose grip and separate if not under constant preassure.palamo hot water heaters freeze so easy due to thin fins best drained out if you not aboard
