It's Parana Pine (comes from the state of Parana, and others). Piranha is a particularly vicious little fish, which makes good eating
in a stew!

I remember reading about a guy who had a narrowboat shipped across the Atlantic to
the US, and then trucked into Canada. IIRC he and his wife lived on the boat while
doing up a hotel on some Canadian canal.

Many thanks for that link, RLWP.

So, anybody that asks CWDF about the viability of taking a narrowboat across to the Continent (sans low-loader and cross channel ferry)
only has to be referred to this video!

I believe CanalPlan has a default setting of 2.5 mph, so if you were to go at something
approaching 4 mph (not too difficult at this time of year, I would imagine) then that
would reduce significantly the 'passage' time. (btw, do you know that boi in portuguese
means ox, bull, or bullock?).

A bit late, I know.
But, if you want information/advice, at least have the courtesy to formulate your questions properly; i.e. no spelling mistakes, no ambiguity; you want answers and feedback, but think your questions through before posting - please!
