I use bottled gas all the time (admittedly not on a boat) and you have to make sure that the gas burners are free of crud, grease etc.
We use a tool like a long thin pin to clean out the burners (every three months or so) but we have a restaurant, so there is obviously
more congealment than in a domestic application.
