  1. Well picked the boat up at 2.30 pm from Harrals and here i was ready to go single handed to Tattenhall Marina just me and my trusted dog Sheba , by 7.0 clock i was well through middlewich and after doing four locks decided to moor up for the night, now the banking is very hard round here to get a deep fixing for the pins and after being pulled out three times i moved further down the banking and tried again, whilst inside making a cup of tea a boat came out the lock like a bat out of hell and i found myself broadside across the canel, panicing i ran out started the engine and tried to steer the boat back into the side forgetting that the rope and pin was still in the water, anybody know how much a propellor cost's, so on my first day i found out how to open up the weed hatch and how to remove 15ft of rope from around the propellor shaft, the next day started well until we came to the silly locks on bends, why!!!! why not build it 30 ft away where its stright?? so having managed to miss all the narrow bridges on my journey i hit the first 3 or four locks sides all that lovely paint work gone forever, after this the rest of the time was uneventful barring the downpour that left both me and the dog looking rather bedraggled, that was until i came to the Tattenhall Marina entrance, just hope Blue string pudding wasn't still there to witness it, what a sharp narrow bend for a newbee to have to cope with, anyway i think i might have just made it a bit wider now, anyway here i am moored up ready for my next adventure,

  2. I'll look out for you - I'm moored immediately outside Tattenhall Marina at the moment (navy and burgundy boat - not the green and white windowless tank moored the other side of the bridge!). Wave halloo!

will look out for you should be there all going well for friday afternoon

  3. Finally after three false starts ( hair line crack on thermastat housing, gearbox wouldn't go into reverse, TALSKI is now  ready, many thanks to Steve Harral and his team for the beutiful fit out, so if anybody see's a nervous looking steerer on his way to Tattenhall marina be nice and give me a wave, Tonyb16

  4. hi all, need your help again, i'm trying to find somewhere between Winsham wharf and middlwich where a disabled friend of ours could meet up with us and get easy access to our boat, ie pub or stores etc

  5. You don't need any equipment except life jackets (not that you see anyone using them). The Weaver's a fair bit deeper than most canals and you won't find bottom if you fall in. Getting out would be a lot harder too. There is hardly any flow, though, so I wouldn't say an anchor is needed and you certainly won't need mudweights. Be careful in Winsford, both where you moor and going out into the Flashes, the lake-like area which marks the end of navigation. Apparently it's shallow there, something I haven't tested because I didn't try. Stick to the left hand side and you'll be OK.

thanks daio, is there elsen points and fuel available on the weaver???

    regards

  6. It wouldnt be the first time that has happened ( Tipton springs to mind) and owners of exspensive new properties will not want their view of the tranquil water spoiled by nasty boats and smoking chimneys.

how long before the please dont moor opp this house signs appear

  7. hi all, being a shorta*se 5'4'' i struggle to see clearly over the front end of my boat a 50f't cruiser, and not wishing to run about like a demented dog from side to side trying not to crush anyone else, i wondered if anyone else had this problem and could they tell me how they manage,i know of the dangers of sitting in the arch of the tiller so thought of having a small platform made any other idea's
