Lifeboat
Check out my next door neighbour:
My first thought is "wow. that must be bloody hot in the summer", followed by "wow, it must be bloody dark too". I've not seen anyone coming or going in the last week, but if I do I'm going to have to ask them how it's going and report back. As far as I know when you buy these things they're full of seats and nothing much else. They are dirt cheap second hand though, I've seen em for 4k or so and I don't think you have to worry about the condition of the hull. Slightly further down the canal is another lifeboat and the guy is cutting out holes and putting in windows. I've not seen the inside but I assume he's got more than a bare floor in there. It'll be interesting to find out,
Once upon a time it may well have looked something like this when brand new (click the pic for more info):
Wanna see it in action?
In other news, there's a very different ex lifeboat round the corner that's currently for sale: http://www.apolloduck.co.uk/feature.phtml?id=155821 The couple that own it are lovely, so I thought I'd give it an extra punt on here
