A weekend of boat work...

Myself, my brother and our dad worked on the boats over the weekend. We had a big diesel genny and the welding kit and set about completing a small list of welding jobs which needed doing. First we fitted a new exhaust for Sleepy Hollow with a proper silencer as the old fire extinguisher expansion box was too noisy.. This job went very well with no problems. We started the HR2 and the exhaust is now very quiet, too quiet for me... Though the engine is still noisy...

We then fitted the tiller back onto Casper, with a jam to stop it rattling so much. I had already given the backcabin it's first coat of cream paint in the week.

Another bracket was welded to secure the starter motor, which had slowly been working it's way loose, it shouldn't be able to now...

We also welded a stable eye onto the roof on the one side to help when tying the centre line.

The speed wheel controls on Casper were removed as I have acquired some proper pillow blocks for the job, but i'll sort this later at home.

The weather was very good on Saturday and we sat out in the evening sun, as the sun went down behind the hedge it was decided that to stay in the warmth of the sun we would sit on the boat's roof, however, dad had the camera...
