Has anyone got any idea how old these Ebay batteries are? Especially the less common types and sizes. When I ran a battery agency all wet batteries had to receive a freshening charge every month to minimise sulphation. If the batteries have been around for a while they could be be suffering a fair amount of irreversible sulphation.

If so I would not touch them with a barge pole and certainly not spend money on them.

That is the conclusion I came to, though to add a bit the seller did advise  :-

"They have been stored on a pallet in our workshop and topped up regularly."

With what? Could be distilled water. I would have been happier if they had said "been charged regularly".

Apologies ,sloppy wording. When I asked the seller the age of the batteries and whether they had regular top up charges , or left on float (unlikely), his response was:-

Hi,
The batteries are all the same age, purchased Nov 2014.
8 of them were in use for aprox a month.
They have been stored on a pallet in our workshop and topped up regularly.

I decided not to bid at this point, so asked no further questions.
