Favourite Flight of Locks.

Just thinking about the flights of locks I’ve been up and down.

Can anyone better the Delph 9?

What a cracking set of locks.

Unique and beautiful.

Like all (pretty much most) locks on the BCN they work easily, gently and quickly.

A joy to use.

superb engineering.

A delight.

And a nice pub/restaurant at the bottom.

Hard one that because there is so many- but reckon Todmorden is pretty impressive-got me going Wow alot anyhow..

Yea northern flights are stunning for the scenery but engineering of the locks don’t stand out like the Delph.

And Tod don’t have a ‘flight’.

theres nowt to match the Delph 9 for engineering.

Why are the by-washes like waterfalls? Were there originally ideas for it to be a double flight?

I never really see these as a flight of locks, just a canal with a lot of locks, they are not close enough together to feel like a flight.

The first ever train bridge in the whole wide world is in Manchester.

So I was told the other day.

The viaduct is by (or crosses) the rochdale 9.

And as grand as the Rochdale 9 might be, it’s not a patch on the Deplh 9.
