Mooring in or around Birmingham

We are going to an event later in the year at Birmingham Arena, thought it might be a good idea to cruise it, so where would anyone moor up for the night, nice and safe and quiet

Right outside the Arena is perfectly fine to moor overnight. Plenty of moorings in that area.

Most of the moorings in central Birmingham are safe (I mean safe to leave your boat unattended).

 

Safety is maximised where there are people and boats, CCTV etc but those are not the quietest of spots.

 

Generally "safe" can be assumed but "quiet" is too much to ask for.

I agree with Rob-M, been to brum many times. It’s nice and quiet there and there’s always security walking around.

Round the corner to before the entrance of Sherborne wharf, miss the air vents, and it quiet.

Just be aware that if the event is very popular then they queue along the towpath. Can be vety noisy but all gone in 30 minutes. Must do wonders for CRT figures of visitors to the waterways.
