Having done a days riveting with Joe in NB Pinner, I can confirm it is the not the craft photographed above.

Pinner came creeping past me at about 10 30 last night heading up the Middlewich Branch. Very considerate steerer who ever it was.

Yes, he was very gentle and quiet. Wish they all were. Not like Defender that has just hammered past despite my neighbour asking her to be slower past moored boats, Foul mouthed steerer too.

I guess it would have been Joe, the owner, (and restorer).

We had a bit of a chat with him about "Big Northwich" boats whilst we waited a long while for the lock near his dad's yard.  Good to see the knowledge and commitment moving down into the next generation!

He has done a fabulous job with Pinner, and it was rightly given the HNBC Hemelryk Award a few years back for the quality of the hull restoration.
