Just wondering why you didn't fill in that 'box' on your Avatar.

Leaving it blanks it always going to lead to assumptions.

You are a woman - be proud of it, don't hide your light under a bushel.

Worked out ok for me!

It was a bit dark down there until I installed a light!

And did it reveal any thing unusual, Mr Rusty.

Didn't fill it in because whether I am a man or a woman makes no difference to the discussion - and for this same reason I believe that when you don't know somebody's gender, you don't just assume it, you ask. Of course, there is the underlying assumption that it must be a guy who would be undertaking the manly endeavour of boating that I was taking a jab at, more light-heartedly than anything, so I won't fight any battles here ;)

While we are definitely out numbered here and some of them still need dragging into the the last century never mind this one, there are also some you won't have to do battle with. There are also a healthy number of women boating many of them single handed. There will alway be hurdles for us that goes with out saying but there is also a home here too. ?

Im not quite sure but it your use of us. me I tend to not look what gender posters are. it was only a short while ago I realised that Rusty was female and then only because of another comment. that is why I now tend to just refer to them as  OP. I think

I was using the term us because the OP was discussing why she didn't reveal her gender and I was talking to her as a woman to a woman.

I tend not to care what gender some one is so long as every body is treated equally. All my best friends on this forum are men.

I can only comment on my own experiences of two (2) total Shysters posing as Boat brokers (one a very well known broker, in the Midlands) well known for supplying boats to the 'London market'

Tis Miss Rusty if you don't mind!

Bollocks.

That's not a sexist comment, I have seen @Alan de Enfield's photo of you in that rubber suit.

If you are a lady, I am reporting you to someone for smuggling budgies.

I'm a really good shot, I'll defend your honour Mr Rusty - But I'm not shooting Bickies cos he's not such a bad 'un.

Once you stop illegally importing parakeets I'll take you up on that.

I ain't sexist - I'd shoot a woman who drew on me just as fast as a fella.
