Yes

is it a big power drain?

No - miniscule

gets clothes far dryer than an 'automatic' for a fraction of the power and water.

The 'payment' is that you have to take an active role in loading, rinsing and moving from washer to dryer. - but what else would you be doing ?

Hi all,

Does anyone here use a twin tub washing machine? Is it suitable for continuous cruising, or is it a big power drain?

Thanks

Dan

They are way better than auto machines and use way less leccy. You have to be there and do stuff so autos now sell way more.

But that's an astrological price.

How many ants per hour do they use?

My one, from the makers plate, wash motor 230W for around 15 minutes, spin motor 116W for 7 minutes during my usual wash method. Can't be bothered working out ant hours from the batts at 12V.

That's about 6 ants per wash (at 32 feet per second per second until terminal velocity is achieved).

Or 0.327 termite-fortnights in FFF units.

I am intrigued. Just what were the electric drill and the bucket for?

Chinese Twin Tubs are great.  There are various sizes. The washer is invariably bigger than the spinner.    The one pictured is a 2.0 kg wash one ours is 3.5kg IIRC (it is the Good Ideas rectangularish one).  That is big enough for smalls and T-shirts.  It will do one pair of bib and brace overalls or one bath sheet at a time.  We normally use Laundrettes for bedding and towels   (Use the ACS Laundrette list to find them).
