We tried to do it ourselves but it's difficult keeping the temperature right. We spray foamed to seal the steel to prevent condensation then added thin rock wool for warmth. It's worked a treat. Robbo Posted November 17, 2018 Report Share Posted November 17, 2018 Spray foam is better than rockwool as insulation, so it would have been better having a thicker sprayfoam rather than adding rock wool afterwards. Snakezilla Posted November 23, 2018 Report Share Posted November 23, 2018 Hi my steel narrowboat was sprayfoamed and then I covered it completely in that silver insulation you buy on a roll from screwfix and toolstation I used 4 rolls I think 25 metre each roll by 1 metre or 1.2metres wide used to be £100 a roll is cheaper now even cheaper on e bay is about 3 or 4 mm thick I have had little condensation however I do have windows open often and heat on ...
