Remote CCTV ?

What equipment would I need to get a still camera picture of my boat that I can dial up on my android phone when I'm away ?

 

I only need to check the front doors are still locked the rest of the boat is very secure steel doors.

 

Looking for the cheapest option.

An internet camera or an old smartphone, a power supply and an internet connection I would think.

Although you might be able to do it with sms

You can get GPS trackers for around £20 which you can attach switch sensors to and set up to send you an SMS if the doors are opened, triggering the switch. And being GPS trackers, do the same if the boat is moved.

There is a lower resolution version for £30.

I bought one a few months ago and it works really well. There is an activity sensor which sends a messsage to your phone app when triggered.

We also have a old phone with e-robot app on it which will send you stuff via 4G or sms but I find that that it runs out of sms messages as it is on payg. I prefer the simplicity and video from the YI. If someone broke in it would show you a video of it happening.

Probably me. If  the alarm does goes off (or I just want to look!) I can check my mooring/boat/van using these that are networked to an old Huewai Mifi- A Three data  sim gives me 12GB that lasts for 12 months so only costs about £25 a year to run.
