CRT are happy to register this as part of another boat, no separate licence, BSS or mooring required as long as connected, but not necessarily permanently, so can be disconnected for cruising, if required. Currently registered as as part of my widebeam, making it 52ft instead of 40ft .

This 'boat' (butty / workshop / store / Disabled Buggy Garage) with hydraulic ramps and 'lid' required a separate licence but as C&RT didn't know what to call it they registered & licensed it as a canoe.

 

You can see the reg-plate and licence (+ a letter confirming its status) stuck on the side (see pics)
