Water pump and Shower pump

Hello everyone,

I hope you can help. Our water pump stopped working and I gave it bash and it started working again. From what I have read online it could be work brushes? I have ordered a new pump to replace it however this morning I had shower and now the shower pump is on and making the noise but it is not pumping out the water. The pump is situated under our bed and I can get to it. Does this need replacing also or can it be fixed?

Have you checked the voltage.

So, the pump is running / pumping but no water is being pumped out.

I would suggest the filter is blocked.

Switch off the pump

Remove filter

Inspect and remove all the soap scum and hairs

Reassemble

All will be 'hunky-dory' (hopefully)

Okay brilliant I will try this. I assume the filter is in the in pump? Thank you

It will either be inside the pump, or 'in line' before the pump.

Depends on type of pump and how it's been fitted.

If you have had for boat for some time and never cleaned the filter, I think that is the most likely reason for falure to pump.

Not forgetting to empty the shower tray by some other means before you start! ?

Cheap disposable nappies are handy for coping with the inevitable small spillages whilst doing this job.

Or it may not have one and the pump is full of the crap the filter would have caught
