Don't worry, we are all rooting for you. What sort of tree was it ? If the Ash is out before the Oak we are in for a soak. If the Oak is out before the Ash Then we're in for a splash So, were they 'splashed' or 'soaked' ?

The Bearwood Boster
Have to be honest,if it was my boat which had been damaged in what must have been a frightening experience-I don't think I would have been amused by the 'jokey' comments.

It's what people do when faced with a terrible experience (there but for the Grace of God), we make light of the 'thing' that's scary. I doubt very much any comment meant disrespect to the horrible experience the poor boaters went through. That said... I'm logging off now!

dogless
We bravely laugh at our own misfortune. Rather bad taste to laugh at others don't you think? I understand no one was hurt which is fortunate. I hope the damage sustained was superficial. It must have been terrifying, nothing you can do even if you see it falling. Rog The damage sustained was anything but superficial. It was pictured on the news. The roof and cabin sides were crushed in about a foot Lower than they should have been. The boat will need major surgery. 15 hours ago, alan_fincher said: You would need to check their log. Typical, it doesn't take long before it becomes another toilet thread ? Inclined to agree. I saw this on the news last night and was quite amazed to see the ammount of damage done to what looked like a very smart boat. It looked as though it hit above a window which perhaps contributed to the ammount of deflection of the steel cabin and roof.
alan_fincher
The boat shown on the news-clip I saw was one of the "No Problem"s, which a have been the subject of one of the better known blogs, (Sue used to post on here). I think this s the second of the line, a former Black Prince hire boat, much modified. (they now have a wide beam "No Problem XL", I think, so no longer own this one). The name is rather inappropriate now, of course.
