Flange nuts for DeWalt angle grinder

Featured Posts

I'n trying to get hold of some flange nuts for a DeWalt angle grinder after mine disappeared. I've ordered two sets from ebay so far and neither of them fitted. The first ones came from China and specifically said they were for a DeWalt but they were the wrong size but they were only a couple of quid so no problem. The second set were Silverline for a fiver and were supposed to fit most 14mm spindles. I didn't realise this was going to be so difficult. I'm not sure what model it is - just a DeWalt mini angle grinder. I always thought these flange nuts were standard sizes irrespective of the brand but clearly not. Can anyone help with a recommendation? Thanks.

Me too. I’m really surprised they’re not. The spanners are universal in my experience.

Tried contacting DeWalt direct?

The inner clamping flange is usually proprietary because that also includes the arrangement for positive drive from the spindle. De Walt are owned by Black and Decker IIRC so there may be commonality with B&D or Elu units.

Is it the hole that is too big or the outside diameter? If the latter I am happy to turn it down. If that would help PM me for an address.

Thanks, it's the inner hole that's too big. I've just spoken to a DeWalt dealer who tells me the same thing that the base nuts are all different, so I've just ordered one from him. The locking flange nuts are all the same ID because they have to be M14.

Thought this might make an amusing end to the thread, this is how we get our money's worth, up here in Yorkshire, when our power tools go to the great boatyard in the sky.......
