What kind of futuristic camera do you have Peter.

My camera is nothing special but about the only resonably priced one that I could afford: FUJIFILM FinePix S 1700.

I have this camera since a couple of months, and still don't know how to use it properly, but evenso I'm happy with it.

Cheers,

Peter.

I think the comment was about the date of your photo being in the future

O.K. I didn't get that, and as I wrote I'm still don't know how to use my camera properly, I think I have to study the instructions to see how to set the date, to avoid future stupidities.

Thanks,

Peter.

I'm moored next to Maffi's boat. Dunno where he is.

Tried hard to include at least one of the various 'No Mooring' notices, but couldn't manage it. :)

Edited to say he did eventually turn up - and Bones, too!

Ah. You recognised me. I realised I asked who not were but totally failed to say who I was. Sorry about that. Good to meet you.

Wrigglefingers leaving Overwater Marina for pastures new!

Apologies for the poor picture quality as I too don't have a futuristic camera :P

She told me she had to stand on a box to be able to see forward!

Can't see any sign of a box in use there ?

Is it the fine boat that usually moors on the Middlewich Branch

If you mean the ne near Barbridge, that is called Juliania (sp?).

I did hear that it had been holed by ice due to a passing boat (wasn't there a thread once that said this never happens?) and is currently being repaired.

Hi Dave,

when I first read your reply, I thought you were taking the ****, as there was indeed a thread about the subject of plastic & wooden hulled boats, potentially being damaged by steel boats passing them during freezing conditions. The issue became somewhat contentious, as a certain member believed that it could never happen!

Such a pity if in this case, it is true.

Mike

No, that's this one:

P1000679.jpg

Which apparently was holed by ice from a passing boat during the winter and is now out of the water at Venetian Marina being repaired.

Thanks for confirming that John.

According to some members on here, it never happens!

I did say "apparently" because it seems nobody actually saw it happen. The hole was close to the waterline but the boat didn't sink. I got the information from the boater moored in front of Tamburo when I was taking photos.

Not a member's boat so far as I know but worth drooling over.

Now moored near Audlem winding hole.

As one of the crew was sat knitting and the other reading a book, I didn't want to disturb them by asking about the green mast.

The boat looks even better in the flesh!

would Tamburo be improved by a mahogany satellite dish?

Possibly, but I doubt whether they'd receive Sky Sports then! :P

I've walked past the boat over the last few days and each time it looks even better. As much as we love our 'josher washer', there is little doubt about the difference in design and workmanship that's involved in building one of these beauties.
