Best Central Heating System for Widebeam

Are you looking for a 24/7 central heating system, or one that gets the boat and hot water up to temperature but not really really running for more than 2hrs at a time.

Reason; the cheaper heating systems like the Webasto are not designed for 24/7 use as they like to be run hard and not to be cycled like via a thermostat, but if your primary heat source is a stove and your only going to use the heater to heat water and get the boat up to temperature then they are okay.

If your after a 24/7 system for primary heating then a Pressure Jet system like from Kabola, Hurricane or Bubble are the ones go for.

I have just taken delivery of a wide-beam vessel which has a Hurricane heating system installed. I'm very pleased by it's operation so far, having been a bit dubious not having any part experience with this particular unit.

We have a Morso Squirrel that is the main source of heating on our widebeam, in conjunction with a Webasto,  which is used when it is extremely cold just to bring temp up at the front of the boat. The Ecofan moves the warm air through the boat efficiently (steady you naysayers you'll spill your cup of tea!  ?). The webasto is very useful for hot water in the summer as our solar panels supply our electricity needs, meaning we don't run the engine, which would normally heat the water.

If you don't run your engine do you have a horse?
