Surveyor Recommendation

Any suggestions for a Surveyor for an Insurance survey on our 60 ft narrow boat please?   Boat will be on the Aylesbury Circus Field covered slip.

I've used Tony Tucker a couple of times. He's based at Hemel Hempstead so quite local for Aylesbury.

Before settling on a surveyor, ask them about the extent they undertake any dismantling as part of the survey.

 

You might be surprised at how limited it might be.

True but as the OP says this is just to satisfy the insurance company he may be OK with that. It could be that just a hull survey is required. It depends on what the insurers have asked for.

Not sure our surveyor dismantled anything.For insurance purposes, they were more interested in the hull condition primarily.

Correct they do not in my experience, irrespective of the purpose of the survey.

But difficult to do a thorough inspection of the bottom at Cowroast as the boat is only a few inches above ground.

 At Circus Field you can get the boat about 3 feet up in the air.

101 cm to be precise.  Theoretically uop to 200 cm but the lights get in the way of the lift columns!

I used London Barge Surveys a while back, the report was really clear and they seemed to focus on the hull in a lot of detail....
