Leeds & Liverpool swing bridges

All the swing bridges are closed for boats with the possible exception of a footbridge just north of Bingley which Nicholsons says is fixed open (it isnt and was closed last time I passed).

A couple of the automated ones are a mare for the single hander, (controls on the offside) the manual ones have recovery chains (unless they come off in which case too late, how sad, too bad).

and bridge 189 seems to be left open and looks like its falling in bits

that bridge (189) has been open for the last 12 years to my knowledge, it does not get used by farmers  or walkers and is rotten through.

bridge 190 used to be open all the time but complaints from walkers   got it reinstated as there is a footpath over it.
