Steam Launches on the Trent

I noticed a pair of launches moored on the Trent near Trent Lock (Erewash), they were part of a gathering this weekend on the Soar, today and Shardlow tommorrow. It is nice to see these craft out and about. I wonder if any Abdela & Mitchell craft survive.

We saw two being launched at Sawley marina yesterday and then there were several more moored at the sailing club at Trent Lock.

So far so good by the looks of things; all still in tact apart from Weston Marsh. I think they must have found the brakes!

Had the pleasure of sharing a lock with a few of them, there must have been 25 in total, all beautifully maintained.

We met these two little steam boats as we locked out of the Erewash and shared Cranfleet Lock with them as they headed for Nottingham on Friday.
