Places to put your rubbish on the Bŕidgewater Canal

Hi 

Currently on the Bridgewater Canal and finding it difficult to  find places to put our rubbish.

 

We found a recycling point run by the council at London Bridge Stockton Heath. It is accessed from the canal via a white gate on the opposite side of the bridge of Thorn Marine. There is a sign saying pedestrians not allowed to walk in. There was two employees on site who said it was ok for the boaters to enter.

 

Anyone know of other places on the Bridgewater?

Put your rubbish in carrier bags and use the local village litter bins as there are no other facilities.

There's another council tip just down the hill from Plank Lane, but again you can't walk in. The guy at the gate will take bags from you though. There used to be a recycling centre in a car park at Lymm, too, don't know if it's still there.

I didn't see any recycle at the car park at visitor mooring in Lymm. There are around 6 large bins for litter.

Plank Lane is just west of Leigh on the Leigh branch.

Plank Lane is on the Leeds and Liverpool Leigh branch canal. Not on the Bridgewater Canal but the tip is handy for boaters.

There are two car parks next to the visitors moorings in Lymm. Recycling is in the larger more westerly one.
