Cloudinspector
Our boat will be going into dry dock soon to have the 2 pack hull coating refreshed and I’m in two minds whether or or not to have the baseplate done whilst it’s in there. It’s a deepish draught boat so we do scrape along the bottom on occasions. Any thoughts?

You will never get a consensus on this forum so, just do what you want to do (waste your money and do the base plate if you want to)
dmr
A couple of weeks back I had a brief chat with somebody who had two boats, a pair of boats in fact. One had the bottom done and one didn't. Probably not conclusive as they were of different ages and construction, but he was very much pro doing the bottom. I am seriously thinking about getting ours done next time we come out. My instinct is that it makes a lot more sense to do a shot blast and epoxy job as that stays on so much better. The Zinc thing at Debdale looks good but its quite (very) costly and I think there is awaiting list. ................Dave
