I can just imagine the bloke in a cap's shirt snagging on one of the shaft bolts a few inches in front of him, and his guts being splattered everywhere.

That must be a two stroke I reckon.

 

I can't see any evidence of push rods or valves in the vicinity of the cylinder heads.

2 stroke semi diesel big air intake/valves on the crankcase doors Have no idea of the pre heating set up

It sounds quite quiet on no load. I reckon it would have a good bark when fully loaded!

It would with the existing or non silenced exhaust system +I wouldn't like to be stood on the counter with that motorworking hard the boat would be jumping up & down like a "jack in the  box"

Nahhh... it’d be sat on the bottom with a 12 Ton engine

It would be alright just move forward a bit to even up the trim cut down the load a bit though ?
