rawsondsr
Due to pick up my first nb in a couple of weeks - cant wait ? however the water in the bow tank is old and has a scummy film on top, so will need emptying. Whats the best way? empty via sink? fill with fresh till overflowing to remove scum then empty via sink? or another way?
jonathanA
Spare bilge pump and pump over side drill pump and couple of bits of hose ( and drill) using the water pump and tap will work but takes ages
ditchcrawler
If it has a hatch even a bucket would get rid of most. Are you going to paint it when empty using 2 pack paint?
rawsondsr
recently been painted so no, not at this time. I'll get a bilge pump which has the advantage of leaving me with a spare if needed.
Jen-in-Wellies
But the scummy film is the best bit. Gives an extra hint of flavour to your tea and more time to contemplate the universe and the meaning of life from the toilet seat Jen 1 1
rusty69
I haven't seen a scummy film. Are they good?

Horace42
I would skim the scum off the top - kids finishing net sort of thing - then drain the tank into the sink using the on board taps or shower - or as already suggested get a bilge pump - but either way then flush the tank to rinse it out the remaining sludge - then fill with water and let it settle. If no filter for potable water - boil it first and let it cool for 'cold' drinks - albeit water is usually boiled anyway for hot drinks, tea, coffee etc, and cooking. You probably know this anyway.
