Oil level in lister gearbox

The guy who rebuilt my gearbox seems to have overfilled the oil - it's about an inch too high on the stick when it's pushed right down. Is this likely to be a problem and I should take some out or can I just leave it alone? Usual lister box LH150.

Have I got two?! Looking towards the back of the boat, it's on the right.

A bit further on.,on a smaller chunk of metal, theres one on the left (I presume thats the reduction box?)

ETA it's low down, adjacent to the fan housing.

The one you are talking about is the main gearbox dipstick. The one further back on the other side is the reduction box dipstick

TBH, I wouldn't be worried about either being an inch over. The gearbox will find a way of getting rid of it in time

If everything is working OK, leave it alone

Your Lister was built with seagoing boats in mind. Imagine what happens to the oil level in rough water
