Thames House With Mooring

Featured Posts

I used to be moored on an island on the Thames which only had boat access. I used a 12ft aluminium punt with a 4hp outboard to get on an off everyday. It was great.

But what has any of this got to do with Boat Building & Maintenance?

I would imagine the novelty would wear off re boat access only.

Yes, the novelty wears off, and then it comes down to whether one is really into mooring/living in the middle of a river and willing/able to use a small boat to get on and off everyday. It's more of a boaty life than just stepping out of the boat and into a car. I was fine with it and that never wore off for 3 years until I had to move for a job.

I regularly use a dinghy to get to my boat as it is moored on the offside with no direct access.  CRT provide a place to store the dinghies and it does mean you can sit outside your boat with no one walking past you.
