And possibly longer. I first saw this dayglo bottle in 2014, just north of Engineer's Wharf, Northolt in London. I passed it by yesterday on the way from Hanwell (1 hour 40 minutes to do the flight) to Paddington.

Good to see some things remain, even if its just a plastic bottle on a stick.

From the title, I assumed this was going to be an unlicensed boat.

Plane spotting, Train spotting, now Bottle spotting. Do you keep them listed in a notebook?

Not so much a potato but more speed blur from me hurtling past at a heady 3 knots!

it's a very important navigation marker for swans; please do not disturb it.

Oh, how about that! After all this time, I never realised it actually served a purpose. I would certainly not remove it, its a great positional marker.

It is there more than 4 years - I would say ten years. I see it every time I pass!

There are similar sticks with tennis balls on them on the Fossdyke and Witham. We wondered what they were but have since found out that they are markers for the local rowing clubs.

East of this fluorescent bottle, from Horsenden Hill to the Cruising Club, you will see small numbered markers on the north bank. These are time trial markings used by Ealing Canoe Club.
